About the Place
Welcome to The Elk, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of Spokane, Washington. Located at 1931 W Pacific Ave, this vibrant eatery has carved out a reputation for itself not just as a place to grab a bite but as a community hub where flavors meet friendly faces. With a reputation for quick service and an inviting atmosphere, The Elk has quickly become a must-visit for both locals and visitors alike.
The menu here is as diverse as the patrons it serves. Highlights include the celebrated French Dip sandwich, acclaimed by customers like Tehmine Poghosyan, who raved about its deliciousness alongside the equally praised Jalapeño chowder. For those venturing in for dinner, options like the fish sandwich and a delightful take on meatloaf have received glowing reviews, proving that The Elk knows how to satisfy a hungry crowd with heartwarming, homemade fare.
Atmosphere is key at The Elk. Imagine enjoying your meal on the cozy patio, especially during those pleasant Spokane evenings. Michael Bauer extols this spot's charm, noting the pub's lively vibe, while other guests appreciate the warm service and thoughtful recommendations from the staff. However, some have pointed out a few downsides, such as the occasional unwelcome fly, reminding us that even great places have their quirks.
The Elk is not merely a dining destination; it's a place where flavors linger and memories are made. From the zesty whipped feta to the boldly flavored taquitos, each dish tells a story. As Ashley Wheeler discovered, while the service may sometimes hit a bump, the warm, inviting food more than compensates. Marlena Falk echoed this sentiment beautifully, relishing the pork loin and Yukon spuds—truly a meal to remember.
In a city known for its culinary eclecticism, The Elk stands out, not just for its comfort food, but for its ability to bring people together over great meals. As Chloe Salvatore and her boyfriend found, both dishes cleared from the plate means they’ll undoubtedly be returning to uncover more beloved dishes. So come on down—whether you’re here for the historic Browns Edition or just passing through, The Elk promises a delicious adventure that will keep you coming back for more!
“ Got the French Dip sandwich and the Jalapeño chowder. It was the bomb! Very Very good. Fast service and friendly workers. Just too many flies inside ”
“ Went for dinner last night and it was great! Quick service and awesome recommendations my boyfriend had the fish sandwich from the specials and thought it was good, I had the meatloaf sandwich which was like a meatball sub but better! The corn pasta salad was a hit for both of us, both our plates were completely clear by the end! We will definitely be back again! ”
“ Really great pub in the Browns edition. They are famous for their Ruben sandwiches but they have a lot of great offerings including salads. The patio is a nice spot for the warmer months. Definitely a great spot to eat and drink. Update Oct 2024: Still great. Got a burger and a salad this time. Browne’s edition is really great for Halloween time. We did the haunted Spokane walk out on by the friends of the Coeur de Alene park. ”
“ We stopped here for a quick snack and a drink after scootering around in the heat. Drinks were good. And the whipped feta was sooo tasty. Only lost a star because the server was kind of rude. Felt like an inconvenience to him. ”
“ We hadn’t been to the Elk for quite awhile, and it was great! Warm enough to sit outside on the patio last Saturday night, and a personable delightful server. My husband ordered a SW chicken fettuccine and I ordered pork loin with Yukon spuds covered in a cream sauce. Delicious! ”
